The Power of Confidence Affirmations and How To Use Them To Improve Your Self-Confidence

Willing to challenge yourself to have more self-confidence? Affirmations are powerful tools that can help you change your mindset and attitude regarding aspects of your life such as self-confidence. Typically, they are recited out loud to yourself. If you’re wondering how to exude confidence, using confidence affirmations can be a great place to start. You can also continue to use your confidence affirmations even after you feel like you’ve developed better self-confidence to keep that confidence up.

Intrigued by confidence affirmations but not sure where to start? We’ve got you covered.

6 Affirmations to Teach Yourself to be Confident

You can certainly come up with your own confidence affirmations specific to life situations that you may be in, but we have 6 affirmations for you to use as you learn how to exude confidence.

Try these out, or edit them as you see fit for your own self-confidence journey.

  1. I am proud of who I am and confident in my abilities.
  2. I can do anything I put my mind to with self-confidence.
  3. I am calm, cool, collected, and confident.
  4. I remain calm and confident, even in stressful situations.
  5. My self-confidence radiates out of my mind, body, and soul.
  6. I am strong, powerful, and confident.

Practice saying these out loud in the mirror. Stand up straight, keep your shoulders back, and keep your head up. You may even want to put your hands on your hips. Having a power stance like this can help you feel even more confident while you say these confidence affirmations.

We recommend incorporating confidence affirmations into your daily practice. You can also set these confidence affirmations as reminders on your phone, write them on Post-Its that you leave on your mirrors, whatever resonates with you as you’re learning how to exude confidence.

You can easily edit these affirmations to fit your current situation. For example, if you know why confidence is important at work and you’re nervous about an upcoming meeting, you can say, “I remain calm and confident in stressful situations such as big meetings at work.” Or, if you are feeling shaky before a first date, say to you yourself, “I am proud of who I am and confident when I meet new people on dates.”

Getting more specific with your confidence affirmations can help you prepare for particular occasions such as these. Before you know it, you’ll be a pro and you’ll be the one teaching your friends why confidence is important and how to exude confidence!

How to Exude Confidence Every Day

There are a few helpful things to remember as you learn how to exude confidence every day and recall why confidence is important. Here are some hacks to remember:

  • No one cares about what you are doing or how you are acting as much as you think they do.
  • Everyone is worried about their own problems; they don’t have time to think about yours.
  • Fake it till you make it. If it doesn’t feel natural at first, keep going until it does.
  • Always have a confident posture: standing up straight with shoulders back and head up.
  • Practice looking strangers right in the eye and saying, “Hello.”
  • Be genuinely interested in others.

Now, on top of confidence affirmations and these little hacks, there is even more that you can do when you’re learning why confidence is important and  how to exude confidence. Here are some more tips for how to exude confidence:

  • Use visualization to picture yourself having self-confidence and succeeding in a given situation. Close your eyes and visualize success in whatever you’re feeling unsure of. For example, you can visualize yourself killing it on a project at work, impressing your boss, and getting a raise and promotion.
  • Dress for self-confidence success. What do you feel most confident wearing? Take note of what makes you feel good and have go-to outfits that make you feel like you can take on the world.
  • Avoid negative self talk. This is the opposite of confidence affirmations. Negative self talk can kill your self-confidence. Examples of this would be saying, “I’m never going to succeed at work” or “I’m just hopeless.” Avoid these negative statements – you don’t want your brain to start believing them! Replace these negative thoughts with positive ones.
  • Acknowledge your strengths and accomplishments. When you feel like you’re lacking self-confidence, take some time to remember all the good things about yourself and the things that you’ve accomplished. You can even write a physical list to reference when you need it.

Try out these confidence affirmations plus the rest of our tips and then you will know how to exude confidence. It isn’t going to happen overnight, so keep at it. You will see change over time, and it’s gonna feel awesome.
